Artists create works, and viewers receive and interpret those expressions. At Bug School, however, we move beyond this conventional framework. We value relationships in which viewers, through artworks and participatory programs, are encouraged to feel and think for themselves, and where unexpected dialogue and discoveries can emerge between artists and audiences.
Continuing this approach, we are collaborating with seven artists to present a 40-day limited art project, “Bug School 2025: Moment Scape,” designed to cultivate more layered and dynamic forms of engagement.
The title combines the words “Moment” and “Scape.” It reflects our desire to reconsider life and the ways we live by using various kinds of “moments” as points of departure—moments that accumulate through daily experiences, or sudden sensory realizations that arise unexpectedly in the midst of everyday life.
As a starting point for creation, we shared two keywords with the artists:
Pile of Moment
The idea that the accumulation of daily experiences and thoughts shapes our activities and ways of being.
Catch Moment
The possibility that by opening our senses, we can perceive the world from perspectives different from our usual ways of seeing.
The interpretation of these concepts was entrusted to each artist. Some begin with one keyword, while others move back and forth between the two in the course of their practice. Through the diverse artistic approaches presented here—and as visitors’ thoughts and senses intersect with them through viewing experiences and participatory programs—we hope that different perspectives and moments will overlap, gradually forming an open space like a landscape shaped by these encounters.

アーティストは作品をつくり、鑑賞者は表現を受け取り解釈する。バグスクールでは、こうした枠組みにとらわれず、鑑賞者が作品や参加型プログラムを通じて自ら感じ、考えることや、アーティストとのあいだに思いがけない対話や発見が生まれるような関係を重視しています。
今回もその姿勢を引き継ぎながら、7名のアーティストと協働し、より多層的な関わりを育む40日間限定のアートプロジェクト「バグスクール2025：モーメント・スケープ」を開催します。
タイトルは「瞬間（Moment）」と「風景（Scape）」を組み合わせた言葉で、日常の中で積み重なる経験や、ふとしたときに生まれる感覚的な気づきなど、さまざまな「瞬間」を手がかりに、生や生活のあり方を捉え直したいという思いが込められています。
制作のヒントとして、アーティストと2つのキーワードを共有しました。
・Pile of Moment（積み重なる瞬間）
例：日々の経験や思考の蓄積が、私たちの営みを形づくっていること。
・Catch Moment（とらえる瞬間）
例：感覚をひらくことで、普段とは異なるものの見方が可能になること。
これらの解釈はアーティストに委ねました。どちらか一方を起点にする人もいれば、2つのキーワードを行き来しながら制作する人もいます。こうしたアーティストの多彩な実践に、鑑賞体験や参加型プログラムを通じて来場者の思考や感覚が交わることで、異なる視点と瞬間が重なり、風景のようにひらかれた場として本プロジェクトがかたちづくられていくことを願っています。
