The theme of ARTJOG 2024 is Motif: .Ramalan
Ramalan (Prophecy) is an imaginary motif that connects the past, the present, and the future—or the future with the present and the past. As an imaginary motif, the meaning of an event is not entirely determined by its antecedents or what came before, much like a hypothesis that predicts various implications within scientific disciplines. In the imagination of artists, prophecy is also a predictive force that drives their creativity during the process of creation.
Characterized by soft curves and gentle hues, Kanoko Takaya’s works span a range of two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms that are primarily perceived through the sense of sight. However, through this work, she seeks to offer a new kind of interaction—one that can be experienced not only visually, but also through touch.
This interactive piece will engage two senses: sight and touch. By involving these senses, Kanoko aims for visitors to physically experience the shapes of her work, as if inviting them to step into and share the sensations she felt during the creation process. Through this interaction, the work is intended to leave a vivid and lasting impression on the viewer.
Behind the work also lies a concept of acceptance and release. For Kanoko, it represents a message of letting go—a sense of surrender that involves both the body and emotion. Just like herself, acceptance is accompanied by a process of adaptation. This is represented through the arrangement of forms resembling a puzzle, which symbolically reflects Kanoko’s questioning of the human desire to always appear “fitting” or “appropriate,” and can also be interpreted as a metaphor for self-adjustment.
Through this work, Kanoko invites visitors to adapt, to experience release, and to find their own sense of comfort. The curved, flowing lines of the forms are also meant to express a way of living that follows a natural rhythm—where, once we begin to accept and let go of what binds us, new opportunities begin to emerge.

ARTJOG 2024のテーマは「モチーフ：予言（Ramalan）」です。
「予言（Ramalan）」は、過去・現在・未来、あるいは未来と現在・過去とをつなぐ想像上のモチーフです。
このようなモチーフとしての予言は、科学的分野における仮説のように、出来事の意味が完全にその前提や過去の出来事に基づくものではなく、さまざまな可能性や影響を予測するものです。
アーティストの想像の中では、予言は創作の過程を動かす創造力の原動力でもあります。
柔らかな曲線と穏やかな色使いが特徴的な髙屋佳乃子の作品は、視覚を通して感じ取られる2次元および3次元の多様な形を持っています。しかし、彼女はこの作品を通して、視覚だけでなく触覚でも感じられる新しいインタラクションのかたちを提示しようとしています。
このインタラクティブな作品では、「視覚」と「触覚」の2つの感覚を活用します。
佳乃子は、鑑賞者が実際に手で作品の形に触れることで、自身が制作中に感じていた感覚を共有し、まるでそのプロセスに入り込むかのような体験をしてほしいと考えています。
このインタラクションを通じて、鑑賞者の記憶に強く、鮮明に残る作品となることを目指しています。
作品の背後には、「受容」と「解放」という概念も込められています。
佳乃子にとって、この作品は“手放すこと”へのメッセージであり、それは身体と感情の両方を巻き込む「受け入れの感覚」を表しています。
彼女自身の体験と同じように、受容には「適応」のプロセスが伴います。
このプロセスは、パズルのように組み合わされた形状の配置によって表現されており、常に「適切に見られたい」「ちゃんとハマりたい」と願う人間の欲求への問いかけでもあります。またそれは、「自己調整」の象徴としても捉えることができます。
この作品を通じて、佳乃子は鑑賞者に対して、適応し、手放し、それぞれが自分なりの心地よさを見つけることを促しています。
流れるような曲線の形状は、人生のリズムに従って生きるあり方を象徴しています。
私たちが執着や制約を受け入れ、手放したときこそ、新たな可能性やチャンスが訪れるのです。
